Our goal is to create conditions for introducing global developmental topics into study programs at the university level of Technical University in Zvolen.
Specific goal 1
International research "The role of universities in global education"
Our goal is to gain data in the field of global education with help of the international research methodology and to use this data and their comparison with the results from 20 universities worldwide in order to effectively implement global education at the university.
Specific goal 2
Internal capacity building for the pedagogical staff at the Technical Universty in Zvolen and incorporation of global education into existing courses of technical University in Zvolen.
Our goal is to broaden the knowledge, skills and capacities of 15 faculty workers of the university in cooperation with foreign as well as Slovak lectors of Socratic Institute. In the next step, those courses at the faculties of Technical University, where global education is not present will be innovated.
Specific goal 3
To create innovative teaching materials and a central contact point "University global education information centre"
Our goal is to create high quality teaching materials that can also be used at other universities. These should include a university textbook "Environmental education in global context" and an interactive e-learning "media ethics in global education".
Establishing the "University global education information centre" should help coordinate global education activities at the university as well as events for the general public.
The results of the project will be the following:
• Internal capacity building at TU Zvolen through 15 members of the faculty
Innovation of at least 5 courses at the university level and incorporation of global education topics
Creation of an original interactive e-learning called "Media ethics in global education" which will be viewed by 300 visitors
Publishing of textbook "Environmental education in global context", 500 books printed
Establishing the University information point for GE which will organize 3 public workshops for 150 participants and create a library covering global and development topics
